Wily cat led Daniel on a merry chase allthrough the neighborhood, Poulin's very own east-end Montreal. The witty paintings won for Poulin the 1986 Canada Council Children's Literature Prize, Illustration (French), and he was a finalist for the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's Award.
